Disco reimagines the classic “buddy cop” trope, launching a pair of adorable protagonists on a cosmic mission. Girl and Gatto Disco were meticulously designed to awaken the “inner child” and rescue that elusive treasure of awe.

CLIENT: GRAFFITI CREATIVE - ANTONIANO DEI FRATI MINORI

Since 1959, the Zecchino d’Oro Festival has been a cornerstone of Italian culture. Venturia is proud to bring its signature classical animation style to this heritage. In ‘Gatto Disco,’ that timeless tradition moves beyond the stage: the voices of the world-renowned Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano launch into orbit, leading a mission through a universe filled with rhythm and intergalactic fantasy.
CHARACTER DESIGN
Originally, the story was going to be a 1970s buddy cop parody, set in the era when disco music first thrived. However, as the track’s robotic textures and synthesizers took hold, the creative direction shifted: the characters were catapulted from the city streets into deep space.
The resulting aesthetic is a retro-futurist celebration. We merged classic disco hallmarks—the iconic mirror ball, flared trousers, and afros—with a galactic backdrop. This project embodies Venturia’s firmest belief: Art transcends time. By rescuing the “special ingredients” of the past and mixing them with the rhythms of today, we don’t just animate—we time travel.
