At the request of a Castilian empress, noble knight Don Quixote and his robot S.A.N.C.H.O. travel through time and space investigating the origin of words.
CHARACTER DESIGN
The overall art direction style of the show blends two main concepts: Renaissance —paying homage to the era in which “Don Quijote de la Mancha” was written—and Retro-futurism…because it takes place in space!
The cartooning style also draws inspiration from old-school anime (Osamu Tezuka, “Zukkoke Knight”, and “The Flying House”) mixed with classic Western cartoons of the 60s, like “The Jetsons”.
TITLE CARDS
We love title cards because they are a fun way to give hints about the story of the episode you are about to watch. That is why we brought together a group of talented illustrators and art directors to design all 13 title cards for Season 1, including Leo Espinosa, Lorena Álvarez, Miki Kobayashi, María Picasso, Nick Cross, amongst others.
